Trip Log
A running log of where I am on the trail — updated alongside each daily post.
| Date | Mile marker | Shelter / town | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Day 9 | 105.6 | Inn at Long Trail | Over Killington’s summit and down to town, where Liz joined for the rest of the hike — taking a zero here to rest. |
| Day 8 | 95 | Governor Clement Shelter | Over Clarendon Gorge’s suspension bridge and a tough climb out — 14.1 miles with over 3k feet of gain and loss. |
| Day 7 | 80.9 | Bully Brook (tent site) | A tough, low-energy day — called it early at a brookside campsite after 10 miles, swollen ankles and all. |
| Day 6 | 70.8 | Big Branch (tent site) | Over Styles Peak, Peru Peak and Mt Baker through the Peru Peak and Big Branch Wilderness areas — 13.4 miles. |
| Day 5 | 57.4 | Bromley Ski Patrol Hut | Resupply day in Manchester Center, hitched both ways, then climbed Bromley Mountain to the ski patrol shack for the night. |
| Day 4 | 48.6 | William Douglas Shelter | Over Stratton (fogged out at the tower), past Stratton Pond and through Lye Brook Wilderness — 15.5 miles. |
| Day 3 | 35.9 | Black Brook (tent site) | Rained all day over Glastenbury and past Story Spring — slow, slippery going, camped by the brook. |
| Day 2 | 24.4 | Goddard Shelter | Over Harmon Hill and Glastenbury way — 14.4 miles, 4,000′ up, big day. |
| Day 1 | 10 | Congdon Shelter | Pine Cobble up to the AT, onto the LT at the MA/VT line, past Seth Warner and the beaver ponds — 13.5 miles with a full pack. |
